1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Chessr ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Chessr is a browser extension that provides chess analysis and move suggestions for online chess games. The Service uses chess engines to analyze positions and provide gameplay assistance.

The Service is intended for personal use, practice, and improvement. It should not be used in rated games or competitive play where such assistance is prohibited.

3. User Accounts

To use Chessr, you must create an account using a valid, permanent email address. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Ensuring your account information is accurate and up-to-date
• Using a valid, non-disposable email address for registration

3.1 Temporary and Disposable Emails

The use of temporary, disposable, or throwaway email addresses to create an account is strictly prohibited. Accounts registered with such email addresses will be immediately and permanently banned. We reserve the right to determine, at our sole discretion, whether an email address is considered temporary or disposable.

3.2 Discord Account Linking

Certain features, including the free trial, require you to link a Discord account to your Chessr account. By linking your Discord account, you consent to us accessing your Discord user ID and username for the following purposes:

• Verifying your identity for free trial eligibility (one trial per user)
• Automatically assigning roles on the official Chessr Discord server based on your subscription status

4. Subscription and Billing

4.1 Subscription Plans

Chessr offers the following subscription plans:

• Monthly: €2.99/month, automatically renewed monthly
• Yearly: €29.99/year, automatically renewed annually
• Lifetime: €60.00, one-time payment for permanent access

4.2 Beta Testers

Early beta testers receive lifetime access to all features at no cost. This benefit is permanent and cannot be revoked.

4.3 Automatic Renewal

Monthly and Yearly subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You will be charged using your selected payment method.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation:

• Your access will continue until the end of the current billing period
• No refund will be provided for the current period
• No further charges will be made after the current period ends

5. Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Paddle.com. By subscribing, you agree to Paddle's terms and conditions. We do not store your payment information on our servers.

All prices are in Euros (EUR) and include applicable taxes.

6. Refund Policy

You have the right to cancel your purchase and receive a full refund within 14 days of any transaction, including subscription renewals. This applies to all plan types (Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime).

6.1 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at contact@chessr.io with your account email and order details. We will process your refund within 2-3 business days. Refunds are issued through Paddle to your original payment method.

6.2 Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. If you cancel within 14 days of a payment, you will receive a full refund. After the 14-day period, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period, but no refund will be provided for the remaining time.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service in rated, competitive, or tournament games where computer assistance is prohibited
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any laws or regulations in your use of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Register with temporary, disposable, or throwaway email addresses
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or abuse free trials

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Chessr and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our express written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• We are not liable for any account suspensions or bans resulting from use of the Service
• We are not responsible for any damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if:

• You violate these Terms of Service
• You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Your payment method fails or chargebacks occur
• You register with a temporary or disposable email address
• Suspicious activity is detected on your account
• We discontinue the Service

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11.1 Account Bans

Accounts found in violation of these Terms, including but not limited to the use of disposable email addresses or creation of multiple accounts, may be permanently banned. In the event of a ban:

• Access to the Service will be revoked immediately
• Any active subscription may be canceled without refund
• We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to decide whether or not to reinstate the account or any associated subscription plan
• There is no automatic right to reinstatement after a ban

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by:

• Email to your registered address
• Notice within the Service
• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
